Wide Angel

Although many sport editors in magazines and papers prefer close shotes over wide shotes, sometimes wide shots can stand among them. It’s not necessary the case in the photo above. It’s an experimenting with the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 which is so far do an amazing job! But that maybe a topic for deferent post. What I hate in using deferent lenses is changing the lens during the game. Because amazing things happens when you are looking away!

Shooting Basketball

When it comes to shooting sport nothing is easy. Your eyes have to be on players all the time waiting for that second when the magic happens. However, some sports are easier to shoot than others. Outdoor sport in a day light is usually easier to shoot because you have enough light to increase the shutter speed and freeze the action with minimum ISO. But if you are shooting indoor where you depend on the available lights inside, you will need fast lenses and more post processing. Especially if you use a cropped sensor camera. I was cleaning my photo library when I saw these old photos from EMU last home football game. I didn’t process them at time because the priority was for the game photos. Last home game it’s also the senior day. EMU brought this big eagle for senior students to take pictures with.  It was the first time I get this close to an eagle. Big Games

I started to shot basketball recently. It’s much easier than volleyball for sure but it require a different angles and techniques. Last Sunday was the big game between EMU vs. MSU.
